How Did They Do That?

This session will be a walk through Lincoln's pipeline from downloading public data through to finished visualization, highlighting all the scaffolding he needed to construct as part of his research, the wide variety of software (and even some hardware!) he had to understand, and how his research questions evolved as he constructed his project infrastructure. It will be a forum for answering the nitty gritty process questions that will necessarily be abbreviated in his academic talk of the previous day.

This session will be casual and open to lots of back and forth. The session will be useful for people who want to get a realistic idea of the competencies that go into this type of research, and put some names to the kinds of software or formats they will need to think about.
