The Department of the History of Art and Architecture is pleased to announce a Research Prize in the amount of $4000.00 to be awarded each year to an outstanding graduate student paper on a topic in premodern art.

The UAG has been awarded a Conservation Assessment Grant from Heritage Preservation

The department is eager to congratulate our undergraduate majors Lauren Burgess, Robert Bush, Anna Moyer, Karen Lue, Grace Meloy, Troy Novak, and Julia Warren who secured fellowships and awards to conduct independent research in the summer of 2013.

With new hires, distinguished university awards, book publications, exhibition catalogues, 2013 has proven to be a productive and transformative year for HAA faculty.

Our graduate students continue to win prestigious fellowships, have plans in the works for a third issue of Contemporaneity, and are gearing up for another national conference to be held next fall 2014 on the topic of art and the construction of visual knowledge.
